Description

UPDATE: I was in this park again 5/4/24 and saw this organism still around. I gave it a good poke this time, and it's firm. So I'm pretty sure it's not a slime mold, but rather a fungus. It's growing on (dead) wood. Will soon upload today's pix as a separate observation. I think Frothy Porecrust or close to it is still a good tentative ID.


No idea what this is. Seek suggested it was a tapioca slime mold, while iNat suggestions are split between fungus and slime mold. I think it was growing on a likely dead plant root but can’t be sure. It was on the footpath out in the open. This is the only specimen I saw in the area.
