Dense patches confined to spring area. Canes are mounding, trailing, and eventually tip-rooting. Only one or two infructescences had some drupelets remaining, otherwise they are all done for the year.

fl stems to 6 ft tall; robust bunchgrass with widely spreading branches; sometimes single individual to dense patches in wash; infl disarticulated with a only few single-floret spikelets. unable to photograph spikelet just as for infl branch glabrous pulvini and obscure ligules.
