If you like heliomeris multiflora get up to lake blanche ASAP. Absolute seas of them, to a point that seemed somewhat monocultural and disturbing… no more pics than this lil swathe cause it got dark, but there were dozens of fields much bigger than this one in between the quartzite slabs. Pretty interesting for a not so interesting plant.

yum this plant is rad. quite impressive qualities on wash banks
unfortunate for such a critically threatened species (with only a dozen or so plants known in existence at the moment??). But a good opportunity for a collection and to check out the root structure. Found it uprooted in the wash, likely within the last day or so as there were still flowers blooming. Lots of leaves looked munched so it seems as though some herbivore is the culprit.
