Gethyllis kaapensis - kaapse kuku

lucky to find two plants in flower in veld probably not burned since Hugh Taylor' collection of this from what must be the very same spot, in 1968; growing in seasonally wet deep, peaty soils, amongst low restios; about 8-12 tall, very deliciously scented; 6 anthers; petals to 9cm long; no sign of any lvs on either plant; one fl partly munched by bugs, but no overt threats, except perhaps lack of fire
