Description

Dead Oscaecilia ochrocephala found on Pipeline Road. My guess as to cause of death is that a bird found it at the surface and took a bite. The caecilian was soft, so the bird bit clear through, and then the caecilian started squirming and the bird flew away.

ID based on Kohler's Amphibians of Central America (2010). The tentacular foramen is under the nostril (3rd picture), the primary annular groves go completely around the body (4th picture), and there are a few secondary folds on the back part of the body (kinda visible in the 4th picture).
