Coverage: from the beginning of the Jones Trail to the 2nd stop sign, then back
Time: 8:51 am - 10:10 am
Weather: clear skies, no wind. Temperature started at 58 degrees F, climbing to 66 degrees F by the end of the patrol
Traffic=cars: 21, trucks=9; 3-axle trucks=3; parked cars=7; bicycles=5; pedestrians=1
There were 2 people surveying along the side of ABR;
One of the 3 axle trucks was a parked Firetruck with crew descending to the reservoir.
Newts: 0 dead newts; 0 live newts
Other findings: 1 live beetle walking in the middle of ABR. I placed it back on the side of the road.

The purpose of this project is to record the number of Pacific Newts killed on Alma Bridge Rd. near Lexington Reservoir during the migration season 2023-2024 in an effort to encourage the Santa Clara County Roads Department to close the road or implement other mitigating measures to reduce the massive roadkill during newt migration season.
