Curators and identifiers

One thing I love about INaturalist: months or years after I’ve made observations, someone went through a bunch of my stuff and made identifications and a couple of corrections. This morning, the daily email from INaturalist came in and listed the 15 IDs that user “Ungberg”, a curator, had made to my observations made last fall, during a trip in the Blue Ridge. I still get IDs trickling in from travel n BC last June. When I’m in unfamiliar territory like that, it’s great to have my identifications confirmed. In other cases, it’s great to have confirmed that I even found something that I was thought was different but couldn’t get more specific than genus. It makes iNatting that much more rewarding, to know folks are paying attention!
