A cold front brought some reasonable temperatures to Virginia, so I wanted to get out and look for any early migrants. First stop was the James River Park "Reedy Creek" entrance. Saw two Chestnut-sided Warblers but no other migrants. In the meadow spotted an Epitheca princeps perched in a low pine tree, waiting out the heavy dew. Hard to find one of these to photograph! Also saw Stylurus plagiatus and Erpetogomphus designatus.

Went on to Charles City County to look for plovers or buffies at the sod farm area. No luck with them, but there was a nice mixed species migrant flock of swallows, including many Bank, Totals to eBird. Stopped at Harrison Lake fish hatchery on the way home. Odonate diversity way down, but a nice trip altogether.
