Everything but a frog - November Amphibian Watch

MPF and I arrived early in the park - before the schedule for the monthly Amphibian Watch. We were looking for 4 species of wildflower - Silver-leaf Nightshade, Cowpen Daisy, Climbing Hempseed Vine, and Waterwillow. All wildflower plants were located, but only the Cowpen Daisy was still blooming - and only two blooms in 8 plants.

After locating the wildflowers we took photos of the Pied-billed Grebes and Great Blue Heron at the pond. Later we observed 5 large crayfish in the water on the far side of the creek. We also observed 2 White-tailed deer as we walked back around the water to where the rest of the group had gathered.

One person reported seeing a cricket frog, but was unable to catch it.
