Weather on our side as we walked the Port Sunlight to Hooton section of the Trail.
Another good day for plants, as you can see. Bromborough Pool Village & Port Sunlight Village are well worth the visit; linked with Price's Patent Candle Company and the Lever Factory respectively. Eastham Country Park is a wildlife haven with oh so many grey squirrels.
Seen scurrying around and warming itself in the sunshine on patches of bare soil (footpath)
Five-lobed leaves and thin, spreading, reddish stems. Flowers 5 pink petals with rounded ends. Sepals red.
Ribwort or Ribgrass.
Leafless, silky, hairy flower stems. The basal leaves are erect, scarcely toothed with 3-5 strong parallel veins narrowed to short petiole. Grouping leaf stalk deeply furrowed, ending in an oblong inflorescence of many small flowers each with a pointed bract.
Long shoots/runners; stalks furrowed. Leaves lobed and hairy.
Bright yellow flowers; heads made up of about 6 flowers.Leaves have three main leaflets plus a pair of smaller leaflets at base of the leaf stalk.
Pale yellow flowerheads, hairless leaves
Large leaves with three leaflets plus pale white semicircular markings. Flowerheads rounded and pink.
