I'm a biologist in Edmonton, Alberta with a particular interest in micromoths, though I'll look at beetles and other insects, and even plants and megafauna if there aren't enough exciting bugs around. I'm trying to document all biodiversity in a local ravine in the Edmonton area, and I help set up and organize the local City Nature Challenge, and the June Biodiversity Challenges across western Canada.
I was the lead author of a comprehensive checklist of Lepidoptera of Canada and Alaska (Pohl et al. 2018; free download: https://books.pensoft.net/books/13080), and co-editor of the checklist of Lepidoptera of North America (Pohl & Nanz editors 2023). I continue to document/compile Lepidoptera species records in the provinces and territories of Canada, and I appreciate being tagged on new province/territory records.
