@cesarmassi @janetwright @bouteloua shouldn't it be the other way round, i.e. Ludwigia hexapetala is the accepted taxon name?

I'm not an expert on taxonomy of this group; I just wanted to resolve the ambiguity, so I'm ok with Ludwigia grandifolia hexapetala, which appears to follow POWO as in the iNaturalist convention.

Ludwigia grandifolia hexapetala is the accepted name in POWO and Flora Argentina

POWO is the backbone, so...

Ludwigia grandifolia hexapetala is the accepted name in POWO

Ludwigia grandifolia subsp. hexapetala is listed as a synonym of L. hexapetala in POWO. Looks like the swap should have been the other way around.

I'm not sure how many observations it affected, but it looks like a good number, maybe several hundred. I don't know anything about the taxonomy of this group, but you might want to contact iNat staff at help@inaturalist.org in order to reverse the taxon change.

I didn't check before, but @bouteloua is right, @cesarmassi. I hope you will contact the staff to sort it out. Thanks for working on it....

Jisus, I must have looked really wrong, I usually leave the drafts for a long time before applying the changes. Tomorrow I will contact them hoping to solve it.

Hi, i contact Tony at help@inaturalist.org and he told me to tag @loarie here.
Scott, are you able to help?

Posted by cesarmassi about 2 years ago

to confirm - you want this swap reverted?

Posted by loarie about 2 years ago

Yes Scott, it should be the other way around. I don't know if I was suggested by what the Argentine Flora says (with Ludwigia grandiflora hexapetala as a valid taxon) or if I really looked very badly at the page of the species in POWO.
It never happened to me and I try to be really very careful, but it happened. If we want to follow POWO we have to reverse it.

My apologies.

reverted!
