California State Parks has announced an exciting lineup of events for the sixth annual California Biodiversity Biodiversity Day 2024Day. From Sept. 7-15 participants can immerse themselves in a weeklong celebration designed to ignite a passion for California’s natural wonders while promoting everyday actions to protect and steward our environment.
Thanks to you there are 200 events hosted across the state including bioblitzes, nature walks, cultural experiences, restoration activities, webinars, and more. A special shout out to California State Parks staff who are hosting 100 events at state parks and through virtual live-broadcasts through their PORTSs Program. Another 100 events are hosted by local, state and federal agencies, non-profits, community groups, universities and YOU! We wish you the best of luck and a great time while you advance public knowledge and discovery of California’s incredible biodiversity this year.

Moth Week 2024 | July 20-28
Pollinator Week 2024 will take place June 17-23, 2024.
Pollinator Week is an annual celebration in support of pollinator health that was initiated and is managed by Pollinator Partnership. It is a time to raise awareness for pollinators and spread the word about what we can do to protect them. The great thing about Pollinator Week is that you can celebrate and get involved any way you like! Popular events include planting for pollinators, hosting garden tours, participating in online bee and butterfly ID workshops, and so much more. However you choose to celebrate this year, be sure to register your event on the map below, and share your story with us by tagging us on social media using the hashtag #PollinatorWeek.

Help us gather critical biodiversity data from the California Coast June 1st-June 30th for the 9th annual Snapshot Cal Coast
For the entire month of June, we are asking people to get out to tidepools, docks, marinas, and harbors near them and document as many species as they can. You can find events near you here: https://www.calacademy.org/calcoast
