Erie MetroParks iNaturalist Project

Welcome to Erie MetroPark's iNaturalist Project, which helps document all observations within the Erie MetroParks. Please join the project, or simply submit observations within the parks to help make this project grow. We will use this journal to regularly post updates about the project, and provide interesting statistics and observations.

We have set this project up for several reasons:

  • to document all species that can be found within the parks.
  • to allow us give advice and make suggestions about how to identify certain species.
  • to identify the presence of protected/threatened species, as well as any invasive species.

The project Admins are the three Naturalists employed by Erie MetroParks. Feel free to message them, or tag them on observations (note: to tag someone, type @ followed by their username).

We begin the project with 1047 observations for 484 species between the three Naturalists prior to opening the project to all users. After that, we increased our project to a massive 1794 observations and 747 species from 97 observers.

Thank you to everyone that has already contributed to the project simply by posting observations within the parks.

@llsparks On our main project page (https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/erie-metroparks) there should be a 'Join Project' button (or similar). On the App, search for Erie 'MetroParks' within the projects menu and find us that way to join.
