I retired in November 2016 from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry after 32 years. I studied American black bears and polar bears on behalf of the Ministry from 1989-2016. My graduate research (M.Sc. 1977, Ph.D. 1983) was on the Common Snapping Turtle in Algonquin Park, Ontario. I have interest in, and general expertise with, amphibians and reptiles, birds, and mammals but I don't consider myself an 'expert'. I live near Buckhorn, Ontario (north of Peterborough).
