I'm a Plant Ecologist retired from the USDA Forest Service, after 5 years on the Tongass National Forest in SE Alaska and 25 plus years on the Ottawa NF in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I'm of a generation that was taught to make herbarium specimens to document plant communities, so I am slow to jump on the iNaturalist bandwagon. I mostly use it for observations of uncommon plants or common plants in uncommon settings.
