I am a professor at Illinois State University who loves nature and is working to protect it by developing eco-friendly solutions to mitigate climate change. For example, my colleagues and I are studying the genetics of how the plant Field Penny-Cress (Thlaspi arvense, pennycress) and other plants have adapted to their environments and can withstand stresses that are becoming more challenging due to climate change.
