Shepherd, physicist. I live in the Bobcat Fire burn scar and use iNaturalist to identify and document (mostly) plants in my changing landscape. Most observations at my ranch Angeles Crest Creamery, Valyermo, CA, desert facing foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, 5200-6000 ft elevation. Pre-fire landscape was a combination of sagebrush-dominant chaparral and piñon juniper woodland, dotted with giant Joshua trees, and a small riparian area around the sag pond Caldwell Lake.
