Principal marine climate change and fisheries scientist with over 25 years' experience working on marine ecosystems, from benthos to fish to marine mammals, and how their populations respond to climate change, fishing, and various other human-driven pressures. Experience in polar, temperate and tropical regions. Have worked at the Centre for Environment, Fisheries & Aquaculture Science (Cefas) since 2004, leading a portfolio of research on the effects of climate change on fish and fisheries. I have a keen interest in marine historical ecology - emerging discipline studying the long-term 'footprint' and dependency of humankind on the marine environment. Leader of the Climate Change Team at Cefas and Honorary Lecturer at University of East Anglia. Previously, postdoc at Institute of Marine Research, Bergen, Norway, after MSc at Leiden University and PhD at University of Groningen, Netherlands.

I have had a life-long interest in all terrestrial and marine life - present and extinct - and it is fantastic to see, through iNaturalist connecting so many people around the globe, that there are so many out there, representing all cultures and societies who share this passion!
