I'm 53 years old and I live and work as a primary school teacher in the south of Luxembourg, close to the border with France. I am married and a father of two. I've been a naturalist for three decades now and in the past I worked on amphibians, dragonflies and grasshoppers though my main focus has been on beetles for quite a long time now. Then again, beetles are a group so rich in species that you have to specialize in order to get something done and so I chose ground, rove and water beetles as my preferred objects of interest. I published a couple of papers about these, dealing mainly with their distribution and habitats in and around Luxembourg. As I am convinced that a naturalist should keep an open mind, I stray away from beetles often enough to devote my time to anything that piques my interest, be it birds, plants, spiders, you name it.
