I live and work at a Christian retreat center in eastern Ohio, USA and have access to 800 acres of woods, fields and some wetland habitats. I've been into nature study and observing most of my life so as I get time I get out and look for interesting plants, insects, birds and other animals, with special interest in butterflies and ferns. In spite of the area's history of strip mining, repeated logging and now gas well drilling, there are still treasures to be found around here. I look forward to sharing as many finds as time will allow.
