Originally from London ON, I retired from teaching at Ithaca College and moved to Otty Lake near Perth, Ontario in 2019. I attended Western and Carleton Universities and taught for a few years at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. At Ithaca I taught Ornithology for Biology majors and Anatomy for Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy students. During the summer months, beginning in 1985, I conducted research at the Queens University Biological Station at Chaffeys Lock, ON where I worked on plumage variation in red-winged blackbirds, ultrasonic hearing in moths, host-parasite relationships between mites and dragonflies, migration of hummingbirds and the best wine pairings with grilled meat and vegetables.
