This is a photographic record of all of the animals, plants, fungi...that I have found in San Luis Obispo County. San Luis Obispo is a fairly large county with expanses of coastal dunes to the south and chaparral covered hills and ranchlands to the north. As part of the Coast Range, there are numerous forested areas, including the southern-most naturally occuring forest of Monterey Pine (Pinus radiata). It has several famous areas for wildlife, including Morro Bay, Montana de Oro State Park, and the Piedras Blancas Northern Elephant Seal colony. San Luis Obispo also has an extensive agriculture industry with numerous large vineyards and in the eastern part of the county lies the arid expanse of the Carrizo Plains National Monument.
