Pine Tree Preserve Walk on Oct 1, 2024

I walked around the Pine Tree Preserve inside Boston College for about 30 minutes today. It was cloudy, a little windy and cold. But thanks to the wind, I could hear acorns dropping on the ground from time to time, which was interesting. I discovered several dozens of different types of insects, fungi and plants. This place is not quite big, but yet very diverse. There are so many different habitats and species. Insects are living on pine trunks. Lichens and mosses are living on rocks. And I could hear birds making noises from time to time. This is only my first natural walk but I absolutely enjoyed it a lot.
