The most unexpected bird we found during the Bastrop CBC was this empid. I am calling it a Least Flycatcher based on the big-headed appearance and relatively short primary flight feather projection, but I'm not 100% sure. Taken on the Bastrop Christmas Bird Count.

An unexpected discovery in Bastrop was Farm Street, with signs all along it describing it as a "Historic Chicken Sanctuary". Here's one particularly nice example of the loose chickens we saw along this street. Taken on the Bastrop Christmas Bird Count.
