Today was decently chilly, mostly cloudy with little to no sun. The ground was still wet from recent rains during the night and the past days. While walking around the lower grounds were filled with ferns and other types of plants along with some flowers that were still open and bright. Some of the flowers were dying though on other plant species. Another observation was a tree more towards the east of the reserve which i had previously visited which now had flowers on it.
It was a generally warm day out with plenty of sun but I knew that most fungi prefer shady, wet areas making the pine preserve a suitable place, especially after the recent rainfall. As I was walking up the dirt path my eyes searched for small divots in the grass where water may collect. These generally had open dirt and looked "mushy" or "soggy". Most of the Fungi I found were in these patches of shade with damp-looking dirt. I also found fungi at the bottom of most trees or on broken branches eating the decaying wood.
Mostly shaded area. The weather was cool due to the shade with a slight breeze. Approached the area on a dirt path leading up to the paved area. Observed many Sunflower looking flowers while walking the path along with many patches of area covered in tiny white flowers. While traversing the path on the other end of the preserve was rock some of which was covered in a green-ish tint.
