Undertaking a closer study of California Marsh Flora

For quite some time I have been interested in better learning my rushes and sedges (not to mention grasses as well!) Found a well illustrated "Flora of the Marshes of California" by H.L. Mason. While published in 1957, the pen and ink drawings are meticulous and detailed. It should prove to be an excellent companion to the Jepson Manual.

Here is an example of an illustrated page for Eleocharis acicularis- a very tiny, threadlike member of the sedge family. The collected sample is at the lower right corner. Minute is a good description for the inflorescence.
