🐦 Two for One — Birding at Fresh Pond

One of our favorite sightings this weekend at the Fresh Pond Reservoir, where we went birding. Here a female cardinal and a white-throated sparrow in very close vicinity 💚

Of course, by now we’ve recorded our sightings and here are the details:

Enjoy! ツ

🦌 The Sound of Bellowing

Every day monitoring the Takhi horses was accompanied by the bellowing of the male deer of Khustai and we loved it! We were even granted the vocalizations of at least 3 wolves on the first day of our visit. Priceless!

That sound (this is breeding time for this deer species) was both daunting & magical. It's a sound that will stay with me forever 💚 What is crazy is that those deer are on the other side of the valley. We were on the go (looking out for poachers) and so I am shooting this little snippet fully zoomed out at a great distance (and without a tripod which also explains the shakiness). But note how loud the bellowing is! 🔊
