This guy/gal was out munching on fallen figs again this morning. In last photo note the youngish raccoon (fourth in past week) in a live trap at the base of a fig tree in the background. One more trip to George Mitchell Nature Preserve this morning. Box turtle may(?) finally have the figs all to itself.
Raccoon number 5 (in just over one week). I think I must have trapped the whole fam-damnly by now! Off to George Mitchell Nature Preserve again…

Another fig thief. This old girl/guy weighed in at 12 pounds (usual adult weight is 4-6 pounds). Fattened up on all my figs no doubt. Released at George Mitchell Nature Preserve this morning.
This squirrel developed a sweet tooth for my ripe figs. Sampling several each time and dropping them before finally finding one worth eating. Sorry Charlie, there won’t be any tasty figs in George Mitchell Nature Preserve!
Feral hen Mallard on a nest. She has been incubating for about 1 week. Her nest is within inches of last year’s nest: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/164200554
