This spot of yellow common sunburst lichen (Xanthoria parientina), measured to be roughly one inch in diameter, was spotted on a young weeping willow tree (Salic Babylonica). The relationsip between these two organizationisms is possible due to the weeping willow providing a stable surface for the lichen to grow on. Today’s weather was slightly colder than the remarkably high 63 degrees that was seen two days ago, with a high of 45 tracked throughout the day. The wind direction was mostly east-southeastern today, with the highest wind speed being recorded at 9.321 mph, and a humidity that has dropped over the course of the day from 65% to 39%. There was no recorded precipitation in the area today.
