Found near Redland PCYC and Capalaba Scout Den.
There were two that I could see; not sure whether there might not have been others further off that I could not see. Foraging in gum-trees, wattles and paperbarks. I see them every now and again in this area; they seem to visit it several times in a year, moving along the creek corridor.
Small group - maybe three birds? - foraging in pine forest at west edge of Chermside Dip Reserve, west of Gympie Road, early afternoon (but on a very overcast day, hence the poor quality of most of these photos). I am sure of the identification, they were giving their very distinctive call and I got a better view with binoculars than the camera has been able to record.
Seen in a grove of hoop pines at the southwest corner of Marchant Park, Aspley.
Three individuals can be clearly seen in some of these photos. I am assuming a family group - parents and juvenile offspring. First they were in the Chermside Dip Reserve, then they flew across to the hoop pines at the edge of Marchant Park (southwest), then they flew back west across Gympie Road and perched in a large gum-tree, from which they later took off again.
