Description

Sighting was at my aunts neighborhood in the morning, this neighborhood is known for having peafowl because it used to be a peacock farm before a neighborhood.
Role: The peafowl, commonly known as peacock, serve an important role in our ecosystem. The peafowl feed on insects that can be very harmful to crops. They are very useful to farmers by assisting in keeping their insect population low. They do have a threatened population due to poachers wanting their feathers and meat.
Phylum: Chordate
Class: Aves
Kingdom: Animalia
Info: There were four peafowl. They were grazing through the front yard. Although it's common to see them in this neighborhood, they are not friendly to humans. After walking a little bit closer to capture the photo they began to walk away.
Temp: It was 83 degrees F
