Sword Ferns (Genus Nephrolepis)

Observer

morrow_b_601

Date

September 28, 2023 02:33 PM EDT

Description

This plant is completely green and has leaves that are very close to one another. The leaves are a bit of the longer side and they kind of have an oval like shape. These leaves do come to a point at the ends. Characteristics include the plant being green (specifically a darker green) (Polystichum Munitum (California Sword Fern, Giant Holly Fern, Imbricate Sword Fern, Swordfern, Sword Fern, Western Sword, Western Swordfern, Western Sword Fern) | North Carolina Extension Gardener Plant Toolbox, n.d.). The leaves are rigid and upright. The plant can also grow as tall as 3-4 feet. All of which describes the plant in the picture. This plant was found in a disturbed habitat. Specifically near the side of a road and buy buildings
