Captured in a trap by people studying Giant Garter Snake and other snakes at the site .
Found this snake trying to swallow a California Giant Salamander .
Out in the field with people studying the Giant Garter Snake we stumbled across this individual .

Neonate Texas gartersnake, thamnophis sirtalis annectens found under canopied deciduous forest along the Trinity River. Specific habitat was along a slope extending down from a walking path to the river, littered with falling leaves and large decaying trees and bark.
Texas gartersnake adult, thamnophis sirtalis annectens, found under fallen bark next to a large decaying tree in a canopied deciduous forest along the clear fork of the Trinity River. This snake was about 30 feet away from a neonate also found on the same day.
