On decorticated cedar - Thuja occidentalis tiny black cup fungi. Apothecium superficial and sessile.
Asci 8-spored, IKI+.
Ascospores brown, with 1-septum, measured

Q = (1.8) 1.9 - 2.2 (2.4) ; N = 9
Me = 12 × 5.8 µm ; Qe = 2.1

Algae of some sort, I guess? This observation is for the little pill-shaped green things. There might be multiple species of little pill-shaped green things - just let me know and I'll split it into two observations.

I believe that in the 2nd to last picture (last one through the microscope), the cells have lost water due to the wet mount medium drying up, and thus the cytoplasm is shrinking away from the cell wall.

Magnification ranges from 100x to 400x.

(And yes, I know my microscope is garbage.)

Collected from a water sample on a granite outcrop with permission from site owner. Area of collection was an area where runoff from upslope collects and it stays nearly constantly wet with slow movement further downslope. Several aquatic or semiaquatic plants grow in and around the collection area. 1000X magnification
