Annually-burned grassland near a patch of forest, no cattle grazing. Topographic position: midslope. Tall grass. Matenaar and Bazelet (2015) published a paper of how the relative abundance of these wingless grasshoppers can be used as an indicator of habitat quality in fynbos due to their relative low mobility and sensitivity to environmental disturbances.
