An exciting day today for IMMRAC researchers: Maya, the monk seal (Monachus monachus), that visited Israel a couple of times in the past, but was absent for the last two years, was observed in Rosh Ha’nikra.
IMMRAC researchers succeeded in capturing Maya on camera. This is the third observation of a monk seal in Rosh Ha’nikra in the past month or so.
The monk seal is considered endangered species, and a rare site, so this observations are very exciting indeed ☺️
