Location intentionally off to protect the plants. Found somewhere in Sharp County. Discovered by Diann Dennis.
About 30 stalks seen. Half on the ridge and half under the large Post Oak. Most still below the vegetation like purple asparagus shoots. Need about 7 to 10 days to be open and above the surrounding plants.
Not 100% sure about this one, but I don't know of any other hickories that would be in this spot (maybe C. illinoinensis or C. laciniosa?). Found at Section Eight Woods Nature Preserve in Pulaski County, IL.
