Description
This very unusual web appeared to originate in a small hole and spread upward for about a foot. It was not quite 1" wide, and looked like a waterfall. I found two other shorter ones on the same tree, a 400-year-old Douglas Fir.

Description
I’m almost certain this is a male Sassacus vitis. It was really tiny, only a millimeter or less, so just a baby. It has a few iridescent scales, and the palps are already the shape of a male Sassacus vitis. I’m hesitating to ID it as such because I’m hoping one of the experts will weigh in and confirm my suspicions first.

Description
Numerous specimens of this species were found crawling on the rock formations that hold the coastal salt marsh habitat containing spartina cordgrass and mussels. Excellent camouflage.
