Description
Found dead in sand at the edge of a recently built man-made "swimming hole" pond (fed by well water and runoff) on private property, along with some dead and sun-bleached duckweed. The pond was first filled last year, and it has many insects and amphibians but few plants. Its bottom is a mix of mud and sand. Max depth is about 6ft/2m. It is about 20ft/7m above and 200 feet away from a natural intermittent grassy wetland in a depression.
Ten pairs of valves, still connected, from about 3.5mm to 5mm length.
