Very common throughout the area on dead beech logs. Color was variable from dark almost grey, shown in one photograph here. Through to the most common yellow shades. And when dried out or old went a whiter / lighter shade. And lost its translucency.
No strong odor.
I was thinking Entoloma, but these are on wood, so unlikely.

Plenty little umbrellas 5-10mm growing of the 150cm diameter trunk of a giant Puriri tree. So whimsical, beautiful find after heavy rains this week. They smell like garlic?
