Found in the open in turkey oak scrubland, very xeric sand. Feeding on a noctuid larva. I have been searching for this spider for 15 years+ in GA... and this is my first one.

Normally I wouldn't guess to species at something I've never seen before, but this really looks like the CV suggestion!
It was difficult to get a photo of the underside especially with the low light. I used my phone light and a hand lens and the result is sadly very blurry but you can see the color at least.

Host unknown, found in sweep sample of field of asters. After studying Hardwick's 1996 Monograph to the N American Heliothentinae, I think this must be S septentrionalis based on the patterning. I did not keep it for rearing or bar coding but wish I had. @cehmoth Chuck if you have any thoughts I would love to hear them! TIA

This is a back of camera photo. I thought this was a pine warbler who wasn't very yellow but wanted to double check. If this is yet another new species in my garden then I think every September 30th–early October I may just bird my backyard instead of the parks. Every year there seems to be greater species diversity here. Habitat gardens really work, I guess!
