Video taken here, sound on- would've included the birdcall if iNat allowed both photos and recordings to be in the same observation
The bird appeared to have a red belly but it could've been the light, so I'm unsure

Description
The saddest young swan. For some reason it was abandoned by its parents. They took its sibling away with them to explore life beyond the pond (they did this every year with their young around October). Left behind hid around the iris beds and was quite listless, it obviously didn't like being alone.

Description
An entertaining moment on the pond. A very rainy afternoon. The 'boatshed nest' coot family had come off their nest to feed. We all looked up at the sound of a suddenly very loud whooping trill. This photo caught the culprits, a pair of naughty little grebes taking the opportunity to mate on the temporarily vacated boatshed coot nest! The male coot was furious and immediately pursued the little grebes, they simply dived off the nest in two different directions to lose him. After he gave up chasing them, he then spent the next hour or so stomping over the nest rearranging it - sort of the coot equivalent of changing the bedsheets. The female and young stayed away from their nest until he had finished!
